Sapreet KaurNEW YORK: Sapreet Kaur has become the first woman to occupy the post of the new Executive Director of the Sikh Coalition.  Sapreet Kaur was most recently the managing director of human assets strategy for Teach for America, a national non-profit which focuses on eliminating educational inequity.

JALANDHAR: It seems to be all in the family as Paramvir Kaur Sangha (22) has become the first Punjabi woman in the USA to wrest the position of Deputy Sheriff of Bakersfield in the USA where, her uncle Tarlochan Sohal was already a Sheriff and her brother Harnek a Jail Superintendent in Calfornia state of the USA.

Anup Singh ChodryJustice Anup Singh Choudry was on May 2, 2008 sworn in as the first Sikh High Court judge in Uganda at the swearing in ceremony that took place at the State House Entebbe before the President of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Museweni and before the Chief Justice of Uganda Bejamin Odoki.

Surjit Singh GillWINDSOR (Canada): The city's first Sikh cop was sworn his oaths for the Windsor Police Service on December 13,2007. An Indian immigrant, 32-year-old Surjeet Singh Gill was one of 10 new constables who officially joined the force in a ceremony at the Ontario Court of Justice building.
